Regina Ress is an award winning storyteller, actor, writer and educator who has performed and taught for over fifty years from Broadway to Brazil in English and Spanish in a wide variety of settings from grade schools to senior centers, from homeless shelters and prisons to Lincoln Center and the White House.
She has told a wide range of stories across the US, Latin America, Europe, and India. A featured teller in
the Hans Christian Andersen storytelling series in NYC’s Central Park for 30 years, other NYC appearances include The American Museum of Natural History, The Brooklyn Museum, and The NY Botanical Garden.
In 2000, she told The Tale of Peter Rabbit for the Easter Egg Roll at the Clinton White House.

Regina has performed and/or given workshops at the National Storytelling Conference, NEST-Sharing the Fire, The Connecticut storytelling Festival, Celebrate Story Festival, the Clearwater Festival, and The Power of Words Conference. International performances and workshops include festivals in Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, Ecuador, Mexico, India, and Tenerife where she was interviewed for radio station COPE.

Regina teaches graduate courses on Applied Storytelling/Storytelling in the Classroom for New York University’s Programs in Educational Theatre and Multilingual/ Multicultural Studies (TESOL) and produces the long-running storytelling series at the historic Provincetown Playhouse in NYC.

Certified ESOL instructor, she has taught English for Art and the VEI at Santa Fe University of Art and Design's summer ArtFest. She taught ESL to adult immigrants in NYC for more than ten years. In 2004 she was the recipient of an NSN grant for her project Voices from Washington Heights: Immigrants Tell Stories About and From their Homelands, which was done at Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation. She has been a regular workshop facilitator for the NY Literacy Assistance Center and taught many professional development classes for the NYC Public schools. As well, she has given workshops on using storytelling to teach English for the US State Department's International Visitors Program.
As a teaching artist, she has given workshops in schools through Arts Horizons and Young Audiences NY. She has performed and led workshops at women’s prisons in NY, DE, CT and NM. In the aftermath of 9/11, under the auspices of Mercy Corps, she facilitated workshops for adults on the issue of children and trauma.
Regina is a Board member of Healing Voices-Personal Stories film company, co-producing documentaries on domestic violence. (hv-ps.org) She was a Board member of the NY Storytelling Center for more than 10 years, and the NY Metro Liaison to the National Storytelling Network, which, in 2003, awarded her an Oracle Award in Leadership and Service and in 2015 an Oracle for Regional Excellence.
Currently, Regina is on the Board of the Storytellers of New Mexico. She has published numerous articles, including; Love at First Sight in Parabola Magazine, and The Holocaust, Littleton and Our Children and A Matter of Cultural Survival in Storytelling Magazine. Her article on working with formerly incarcerated women appears in the journal Diving in the Moon,

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Regina Ress holds a BS in English from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.A. in Theatre from Villanova University, and a Certificate in TESOL from The New School University.
