Regina jokes that New York City is her "significant other." Years of being a passionate resident of Greenwich Village have given Regina an eye for character, place, and history.
Regina has wandered the streets, sampled the food, acted on and off Broadway, told stories from the northern end of the Bronx to the southern tip of Staten Island. She's lived through black outs, floods and terrorist acts. She's written stories about it all… about Lost African Kings on the subways, haunted apartments, shoeless dancers in playground puddles and a post-9/11 healing sent to NYC from a mountain top in Costa Rica.
Beginning in 2005, when she was invited to tell the story of her homeless neighbor Brenda, Regina has recorded ten of her New York Stories for George Bodarky's Cityscape on NPR affiliate WFUV. Some of the stories are fact, some fiction; all hold truth about Regina and her “significant other,” New York City.
Joining Regina on this CD is her Greenwich Village neighbor and friend, jazz musician Michael Moss, whose musical meanderings firmly set these stories in the city they both love, New York.
